Release 4.9

Release date: 05/09/2018

Overview

This release includes:

New Features

Granular Security - Phase 2

Granular Security is a large development effort with the goal of providing better tools for controlling how information is accessed within the application and what functions end-users are allowed to perform. Please read below for more information on each feature relating to the second phase of Granular Security.

Permissions Matrix

This feature changes the way in which we handle permissions in the B2W Inform application. We have broken up permissions by area for the following permission types: Administrative Permissions, Template Permissions, Form Permissions, Report Permissions, and Alert Permissions. Additionally, Security Administrators can assign more granular permissions to user groups using Template Categories, Individual Templates, Report Folders, Individual Reports, and Business Unit Settings. Please see the User Groups permissions guide and User Groups pages of our Online Help Documentation on how to use these areas.

Improvements

Entire Application

Enable Ability to Open individual Template, Form, or Report in a New Browser Tab with Middle mouse click and with Right Click Options.

Templates

Snap to Grid

This improvement greatly enhances our positioning line feature in the Template editor tool. All components will now snap to the grid of the canvas making it easier to line components up with others.

Auto Populate Component – Business Unit Added to Meta Data Options

Ability to display a read-only value of the Business Unit that the form filler belongs to at the time the form was created.

Setup Area

Ability to hide inactive users

By default, we hide inactive users. To show them, check the Show Inactive Users checkbox.

Bug Fixes

Fixes issue of:

  • Template Editing: When using the ‘Copy Page’ function to copy a page that contained Section components, which themselves contained other components, unique names were not always being generated for the new components. This resulted in end-users being met with an error message when trying to save their template.
  • PDF files not downloading with correct .pdf file extension in certain versions of Firefox.
